Default Keris Sumatra?

As these knives are not my main interest, any info is welcome!

Perhaps Sumatra origin?
Fittings 20th C, but blade much older I suppose, 18th C.?

Bone handle and wranka?
Perhaps whale bone?

Plain keris or more particular?

Thx.

Hello Pieje,

Yes, the fittings are from Sumatra, Minangkabau style but clearly from the 20th century, the buntut from the scabbard is missing. It's bone but not whale bone.
The blade is older, yes, but can't say how old really. But I guess that the blade is Javanese and not from Sumatra.

Regards,
Detlef

Collectible? Yes, the blade is antique, the Minang fittings are possibly made for selling purpose but maybe already old, around the mid 20th century, maybe a little bit older. The fittings (scabbard, handle & hilt cup) are made in Minangkabau style. The blade is definitely not from the Minangkabau culture. The poorest part is in my opinion the pendok (the metal oversheat), it's poorly made. Is it silver? Have you tried to polish it up? Or is the scabbard stem from wood? Difficult to say from the pictures!
Others may have a different opinion, it's my personal opinion about your keris.

Regards,
Detlef

Thank you as well! At first glance I thought that it's metal. And like said before, it's my humble opinion about your keris.
