				 | Pesh Kabz?

I am inspired by Shakethetrees Pesh Kabz ( http://www.vikingsword.com/vb/showthread.php?t=20743 ) to try and identify this knife. The seller thought it was a Pesh, but it is unlike the Afghan Pesh I have seen. The chisel work on the blade and guard look Indian to me. Does anyone recognize this? TIA for any help! Harry |

I like those, the quality is nice, but are newly made in Afghanistan as far as I know. Some are nicer, with all metal construction. The dealers from Afghanistan in Sharjah souq sell these often.

I would suggest you look closely at the engraving. It is to crisp you see this with mechanical engraving. Basically they use a pc hooked up with a engraving drill. I have also seen this used on older pieces to add some flash.
