I was fortunate enough to acquire this lance from our fellow forumite. He has shown the details pretty well I think but I took a few images to show the real scale of how big this lance is!

I'm also including a scan from a book which sites one of these collected in Ilorin but notes the type also is found in Bornu. Added to one of the same pattern I already own (shown in on of the comparison photos) field collected in Cameroon, we can say this was a widespread pattern.
