Yes, to me the whole kindjal looks like it was made this way, with the hilt and scabbard original to the blade. Ariel knows a lot more more about kindjals than me, and you may want to send him a PM with a link to this thread, as he can probably help you better than me with the identification.

I too wold suggest Russian made.
The type was made by Zlatoust factory and I am sure others followed and copied the form too. Zlatoust manufactured pieces did not pin from the side on these types but used a peened tang construction. I hope others with more knowledge chime in. Gavin |
