Telek, and thoughts on Tuareg rebellion

I would just like to start off say that I am not trying to state anything as a fact. Another reason why I thought maybe this is possibly mail piercing, is that the whole blade is rigid right down through the forte and I do not recall ever handleing a Telek before with a blade that does not flex especially at the forte and also getting thicker at the pionted end. I cannot see bad forging for a reason. Of its type this is a good quality weapon made for use. Anyway here are some pictures that might help illustrate my thinking. Tim
