The blade itself is not wide but I would say thin...and makes up for it in thickness. I actually love how thin it is...it actually feels somewhat similar to a heavy stick...something that modern eskrimadors would feel familiar with. The big knobs on both sides of the handle actually do help. I actually thought it was a pinuti. I don't know anymore...Im just as lost as I was when I first started. More research needs to be done on these types of swords.
