Thanks for your comments Vandoo. You are absolutely right. Since your informative reply I have looked at one of the previous posts and also some sites on the web. It seems that they are from Jezzin in southern Lebanon. The one you recognised being the more common. The other one is older and also better made. It is very well decorated with birds and the Ottoman moon and stars, it also has a bell attached to a loop fixed to the horn at the birds throat.
Do you know what the bird symbolizes and if not can any other member inform me ?
