Thumbs up

ARTEFACTS SUCH AS THIS ARE OFTEN VERY DIFFICULT TO IDENTIFY EVEN BY THOSE EXPERT IN THE PARTICULAR FIELD. SO I AM AT A COMPLETE LOSS BUT WILL HAZZARD A FEW OBSERVATIONS
THE OBJECT APPEARS TO BE BRONZE AND IF THERE IS ROOM TO PASS A BELT OR CLOTH SASH THRU THE OPENING AT THE BACK IT COULD WELL BE SOME SORT OF HANGER FOR CARRING SOMETHING PERHAPS A SWORD. YOU WILL HAVE TO DO COMPARISONS WITH PROVANANCED ITEMS ON THE DESIGNS ON THE ITEM AS THE BEST WAY TO GET AN ESTIMATE ON ITS AGE AND CULTURE. PERHAPS INDIA ?? IF YOU KNOW THE CULTURE IT CAME FROM AND THE ORIGIN OF THE FIND, THAT WILL GIVE YOU A GOOD PLACE TO START. IF ARCHEOLOGICAL INFORMATION IS AVAILABLE FROM A DIG SITE IT SHOULD PROVIDE A GOOD ESTIMATE OF AGE AND CULTURE. A NEAT LOOKING ITEM GOOD LUCK.
