Hullo everybody,
Fernando, I would call it Tjis in the Soenda language. The name is derived from Arabic. It was traditionally used by a khatib (mosque official) and would be by his side while delivering sermons. Basically, it is a short-sword staff. However, in the last couple of centuries, it has become part of aristocratic regalia. Best, |
