This one went for a dear price.

The way it was described, the seller seemed to be implying it was a wall hanger. Bad photos though. That does look like it could be gold on the hilt and scabbard. Am I missing something?

The photo's are good enough to see that the blade is rather new. I really do not understand why these still command relatively high prices they are most often not very good quality, not on the whole old and very common. Even the "good ones" are to me fancy but rough.

Looks like a newly made bazaar quality jambiya to me. The hilt is plain horn and the metal work is not that great. Something does not smell right to me

Below is a 19th century jambiya please notice the fine silver work on the hilt when compared to the one that just sold on ebay.

The buyer is in Saudi Arabia & he buys a lot of them. Mostly Rhino horn.

Must admit that one doesnt look any good to me, But each to there own.

Good quality gold and silverwork are still coming out of Oman, but still, the blades are useless. In Saudi Arabia however, Ive seen alot of Omani Jambiya's, with their original forged steel blades intact.
