moro? help!

i don't really know what this are, but the one to the right look moro?
may be one of or forum brothers has a better monitor than i do, i am using a 15" older and almost black and white monitor, it don't give me much to look at, almost complete dark with a little shadows of the blades. pls help.

In a word ; yes .
Strange (to me) hilt though .

The other piece with the star at the bottom looks Philippine also ; the keris looks like one of the Madura 'Soldier Kerisses' hard to tell from pic quality though ....

I agree with Rick - Moro. I would like to have had better pictures though. From what I can tell, the hilt is fine, but fuzzy.

I don't think it's a question of a better monitor.

I think it is very possible this is an old "archaic" Moro kris, what Cato defines as 18thC kris. By comparison to the Madura keris next to it it seems the blade is probably under 20 inches long. And the blade profile is right for nthat type of kris. But i've got a feeling that the hilt might be a figurative Indonesian hilt that has been adapted to this kris. I don't see a baca-baca on this one. We need a CSI photo reconstruction on this photo to tell anything for sure.

Nechesh, I agree. It is a moro kris with probably a maduran like ukiran. But the picture doesn't tell it properly. The other keris is a maduran KNIL keris or like Rick said a soldiers keris.
The fourth dagger is such a morrocan nimcha dagger. Tourist??
The third dagger has a star and something like a heart on the sheath. Might come out the morrocan tourist area too but of course a phillipine dagger is also a possibilty.

Looks like a 18thC and looks like it does have a baca-baca. Interesting that it has a ferrule. Interesting that if it has non-traditional Moro hilt, some assume it is "adapted". Maybe the new owner will provide us with some pics?

Bill, you might be right, there could be a baca-baca there. Frankly, i'm not "assuming" anything about this kris based upon this photo. I certainly wouldn't assume that there is a ferrule. It could just as easily be a selut on the hilt. Without better pictures i would jump to ANY conclusions on this one, least of all that it is a Bugis missing link.
