			Hello friends,

a Bicol minasbad dinalayap from Bicol. OAL: 26 inches, with an 18.5-inch blade. (we're still trying to deteremine what kind of wood used for the scabbard and hilt). The question is: the design at the pommel. We can't be certain if it's a tenegre, pinaniki/tinikbalang or something else. Still trying to figure it out. Ha ha. Saludos, Yves |

I'll take a wild guess, probably a pinaniki? The "ears" give me the impression of either an inayam or a pinaniki, but if I remember correctly pinaniki had shorter, almost non-existent snout.

			Hello,

An update. This info came from a renowned minasbad person: 1) yes, it's closer to a pinaniki (usually he says, that it would have been a kinabayo for this type of a minasbad); 2) wood: langka (jackfruit) 3) additional info: 18-inches or so blade would be considered a 'standard/minimum' minasbad blade (though there have been shorter & longer variants). Many thanks for the info/inputs from our good friends. Saludos Yves |
