khukuri with bone handle?

Just finished in Ebay, is possible handle was made of bone or ivory? when i received , i´ll post pictures.Some opinion about my new adquisition?

Almost certainly bone. I have one or two like that with a buffalo horn buttcap. I guess the bone isn't big enough to flare out, so a horn piece is used on the end.

Nice piece. Don't think it's as old as what they say in the auction.

As Steve says definatly bone. Nice shape to it. 1920s to 50s... 99.95 % of Victorian kukris dont have buttcaps.

Makes a change to see that seller marketing a kukri without fake ww2 or Regimental markings added .{can provide numerous past examples his sold in last 2 years.}

Perhaps the "kukri Fakes" article on sword forum struck home.... {Or various IKRHS articles about his past sales.}

Good that he will earn the same money for an unaltered piece.

Helps the learning.

Sadley I see the same seller is still selling a "Burma 1944" kukri piece.
