Some of you will remember that I became interested in boarding axes a few years ago. I have recently done some research on US axes and my article has now been published in the Arms and Armour journal of the Royal Armouries Museum.

I'd like to thank all those collectors and museum curators who contributed with their knowledge and details of axes in their collections. if you have access to the journal, the article can be found under latest articles at https://www.tandfonline.com/action/s...nalCode=yaaa20 If not, I do have a limited number of free links to give away which also allows a download of the article. Anyone interested in a free link please PM me and I'll send you one. |

Just read this and it is superb!!! It is remarkably comprehensive and shows great examples to show the diversity of these important weapon/tools and illustrates the intriguing close connection to types of tomahawk in certain aspects and cases.

As someone not especially well versed in these, I feel much more informed as well as my interest totally piqued!!! Last edited by Jim McDougall; 15th June 2022 at 05:38 AM. |
