				 | African sword ID

Got this African sword from an online auction. It has a heavy, hand forged blade and is rather sharp. Blade length: 48 cm / 19", overall length: 52 cm / 20.5" Can anybody help me ID it?! |

Hello Marius, it's a Salampasu sword from Congo, do a little bit search by keyword "salampasu" and you will find other examples. Best regards, Detlef |

				 | Here is my example

Purchased from Oriental arms many years ago. I have sometimes wondered about the pouch at the base of the scabbard, it almost looks like skin.

this one look different, special the scabbard. The leather toe pouch is also unusual but don't think that it is human skin. Regards, Detlef | |
