I bought these recently for a modest price that perfectly matched my modest budget. They are the first keris I have bought. They are interesting, a little campy, and fun, but too lightweight to be a weapon. I'm guessing these were tourist souvenirs from Java or elsewhere in Indonesia? They don't look new. I'm guessing they date to maybe the 1970s? Any help with these is appreciated. Thanks!

I am afraid that is exactly what they are, tourist souvenirs. These are not made by traditional forging methods. Basically cut out blanks of metal. The last one is supposed to emulate the kujang. I would image these are all rather late 20th century at best. Not much more to say really.

Please forgive me Henk:- Harry's pennies have not been wasted at all, on the contrary, he has made a very valuable investment in his education.

All education costs. I'm sure that Harry will never forget this lesson and his next purchase will reflect what this lesson has taught him. |

Gentlemen, i am going to close this thread as Harry has placed these items on eBay for sale and as per forum policy it is no longer a subject open to discussion here.
