As these knives are not my main interest, any info is welcome!
Perhaps Sumatra origin? Fittings 20th C, but blade much older I suppose, 18th C.? Bone handle and wranka? Perhaps whale bone? Plain keris or more particular? Thx. |

Hello Pieje,
Yes, the fittings are from Sumatra, Minangkabau style but clearly from the 20th century, the buntut from the scabbard is missing. It's bone but not whale bone. The blade is older, yes, but can't say how old really. But I guess that the blade is Javanese and not from Sumatra. Regards, Detlef |
