I was hunting about the Flea Markets Yesterday and I came upon this item. I think that it could be a sword or dagger hanger from Russia, Serbia, etc.; I just hope that it isn't a Salvation Army, Knights of Columbus, etc., piece. It is not marked.

Does anyone have any idea? |

Could also be a different direction as several sports clubs, mainly Greek and Turkish, have the double-headed eagle in their insignia, like this example from Konya

This seems very much like an element of Russian military accoutrement, though I dont have references handy at the moment (I think something in "Russian Military Swords" , Mollo). The double headed eagle was of course in Holy Roman Empire and Balkans, but something distinctly Russian on this, especially with the number.

Nothing Masonic or fraternal IMO. |

			Hi,

I would suggest this is Masonic re the 32nd Degree of the Scottish Rite. Regards, Norman. Last edited by Norman McCormick; 5th June 2023 at 02:32 PM. |

Thanks again to all; the Masonic attribution seems to hit the bull's eye!
