Bulgarian Kindjal?

Another novelty in my collection is this Kindjal.

whence this kind? 've seen similar ones that were classified as Bulgarian. there is something really? Another curiosity is the blade steel. do not know exactly whether there is enough visible in the pictures! is welded steel composite, it could be steel refinery? (Steelmaking before industrialization)
Wootz, or a type? I've seen pictures of Wootz, was striped wave (book by Manfred Sachse, the Damascus steel)
am open to any idea.

Hi,

This is not Bulgaian work in my opinion. My guess would be Russian.

Chregu,

To me the pattern looks like typical fold lines: a result of the forging process.

that was my guess!
then Müster this blade have been manufactured until 1880.
what do you think of the handle and scabbard is also from this period?

Yes, to me the whole kindjal looks like it was made this way, with the hilt and scabbard original to the blade. Ariel knows a lot more more about kindjals than me, and you may want to send him a PM with a link to this thread, as he can probably help you better than me with the identification.
