Yes it looks most certainly like a Kerala knife to me.

The similarity of the knife is extremely close! help thinking patterns in silver plate would have an identification. Flower and bird patterns. |

Yes the decoration can no doubt be traced to a specific place, but for the moment I am up to my neck writing an article about the katar, so I don't have time to do so.
I will however ask an Indian friend who might be able to help. |
