khanjar, Indo-Persian, 18/19th, very rich ricasso and nice gold koftgari on the blade, no scabbard ? this one could give us more precisely the origin ... (may be Ottoman ??) the handle is difficult to appreciate if it's amber or not have a pin, heat it till red, then sew in an inconspicuous area the smell will tell you the truth, better than any comments all my compliments for that fantastic Khanjar ![]() à + Dom Last edited by Dom; 24th February 2012 at 09:08 PM. |

Dom is right, it's Ottoman (Balkan?). but probably later than 18/19th. The blade is of Indian "Tiger Jambiya" shape. The handle looks awkward and non-functional, and likely shortened/replaced from another piece.

may I had, that could be a "presentation" dagger, or a dagger "de cour", but, certainly not a weapon for fight à + Dom |
