HELP WITH PHILIPPINE SWORD HOLDERS

Has anyone seen any sword holders that are wall mounted in the Philippines?

I have seen some from Indonesia that hold just the sword blade, and was wondering if anyone had some Philippine examples? Thanks for your help.

I think I know what you are referring to as far as the Indo holders go . These are made to be worn on a belt at your back with the board portion facing downward to keep the bare blade away from the legs ; they are not really meant as display pieces for the house ; more for field work although they are nicely carved .

I don't know if these were used in Philippine field agriculture ; but it seems quite possible .

Please correct me if I am wrong (and I usually am), isn't a tagub used with a Barong? The hole in this piece does not look like a Barong would fit.

If this is a Moro piece, when and where was it used? You do not see these around.

Ron , to the best of your knowledge then , there were no specialised stands or holders for the edged weapons in the Philippine or Moro household ?

These are probably still used today by Indonesian subsistence farmers .

As for emeritus it's a typo ; should read 'emeticus" !

After almost ten years I am out of the harness .
