				 | Yes, you heard me right... a Gerponese Frankendagger

I'm guessing the Japanese component quasi-qualifies this to list in the ethnographic forum... I am hoping someone here can shed light on this auction that recently ended on the 'bay. In particular, I am curious as to whether anyone might be able to explain why what I see as a Gerponese Frankendagger fetched a hammer price well over $500. $565 for what looks to me to be a one-off comprised of an SA blade married to a Meiji period colonial Japanese hilt. So why the stratospheric price? Is it a particularly rare RZM code? Am I missing something here? Click here And does this mean there's an SA-hilted Japanese colonial sword floating out there somewhere? |
