Klewang Celebes / Moluccas for sale.

For sale :

A big heavy Klewang from Celebes or Moluccas.

Total length 76 cms. / handle approx 21 cms
The blade has some heavy pitting, but still shows that it has been handforged and layered structure.

The handle in perfect condition all rattan still present and in good condition.
a buffalohorn ring at the base of the handel. the wood shows extensive patina.

Please compare with the example in Zonneveld's TWOIA.
This one does not have the handguard and appears not to be made without the guard.

This one appears to be made without the handguard.
So, no signs of a former fixed handguard that went missing.
