Yataghan with inscription

I picked this Yataghan up from the sale of a theatre company props department. It had been used for years as a "exotic sword" in various productions. The whole thing was covered in a thick coat of varnish which I have removed. The horn grips have taken a bashing as has the blade edge. Can anyone tell me what the two inscriptions say and a rough idea from where the sword comes from. Thanks in advance.
