Did genuine Afghan Pesh Kabz daggers have an sccabard with a curved design like this? I wonder if this scabbard/sheath is modern or if it’s from the 19th century?

100% genuine. Not very frequent, but very well known

See Egerton Plate XIV, #624, 19th century. Typical ch'hura from Banu. There is an assertion that anything on Afghani weapons with brass indicates 20th century. but this is patently wrong. The Egerton's example has " brass mounts". Also check Egerton's private collection, bought in 1855: several have brass mounts. I would safely put it as 19th century. |

Genuine indeed but I would put it in the 20th century, more exactly around the '50s to '70s.

And not because of the brass, but based mainly on the examples I had or I have seen. I am curious to see what others have to say. |

This item is presently an active auction and therefore not open for discussion. This thread is closed until the auction ends.
