The makhila or makila or a walking stick,
is lined with a pick/short blade, belonging to the culture and tradition's Basque,
it is consisting of several elements:
the stick is medlar wood
the ferrules are made of different metals (brass, nickel, silver or gold).
the handle is wrapped with leather straps braided, or metal
the hand strap is made of leather (missing, on the makhila presented)
the hilt made of horn or, metal shaped as hammer.
by unscrewing the handle, the weapon is discovered, made of a steel tip

usually a makhila has engraved; name of its owner, a proverb or a symbol.
