I think the design and size of these spears makes it well suited for wild boar hunting. The Central Highlands of Vietnam were once rich in wildlife, including such large and dangerous animals as wild elephants and tigers. Hunting has always been a traditional craft of the locals. They took their weapons, such as these spears, even when they went to work in their fields.
