Adam, I worked as an auditor, in government, for 37 years, I like to to believe that I understand well the mindset of bureaucrats. Do not believe for one moment that you can work around them. You want to come out of a confrontation with bureaucrats you need to know the law better than they do before the confrontation arises, & if you are not able to effectively represent yourself in legal matters get a very good lawyer and a reliable source of adequate funds.
Sorry Alan, I intended that for a post in the other thread on the eBay-liquidation issue, but I mistakenly posted it here. Based on my experiences with bureaucracy thus far, I'm inclined to agree - there has been the occasional win, however, which gives me hope.
