Thank you and good eye on the separate trunk! (It's not lost, but it is partially obscured in the x-ray (thinner metal around the greneng is obscured, as well). It's visible at the joint, however.)
I noticed witness marks on the blade earlier and wondered what they were about. Mystery solved.

Regarding a hilt, what general style would you expect originally - ornate pommel or simple?
I'm also still curious about its age/condition.
I'm new to kris study, but I recognize signs of extensive use (broken tang, "bashed up gangya" and other wear marks on baka-kaka contact surfaces, etc.).
Curious if this is typical and what, if anything, it says about its age or original user. (Or should I just read a book.)
