Oh yes they are !! I mean, what is "ottoman"...? Just remember that, at this era, Algerian was the most feared navy man on mediteranean see. For most of european countris, "turkish", or "ottomans", was actually the algerian, when they wasn't called "barbary pirates".
What I want to aim, is that most of the weapons used by algerian at this era, even with an ottoman shape, was actually made localy, with a lot of typical local crafstmanship. You all know here the "algerian yatagan" with those particular handles, and even if a lot think those blade was all imported, this is not, and algeria, also inspired the ottoman art, as it was inspired by it.
For those two ones....
The saber is a FRENCH MADE, by the well known (at this time) "Monceau à Paris", copying the ottoman style. It was a gift made by the french king, to the Emir (yes, actually they was not only ennemies...). It is actually at "le musée de l'Empéri" in Salon-de-Provence.
Monceau Paris made another one (may be more) that is in another swedish or scottish museum, I've forgot. They was know for making such objects for diplomatical gifts, sometimes with oriental inspiration.
The knife : I dont think it is actually the one attributed to the emir. You right that this one isn't algerian... but... A LOT was also made in algeria, a point I've developped in my book (already too much talk about that book hahah.. But very close to share it with you all !! Inshallah
). Those are a bit different, no niello on hilt, no filigree work on the scabbard, only repoussé on both, with usually a floral decorativ scheme. Rarely those round maker marks. A lot of them are engraved with a mention that precise the algerian origin, but actully very few people noticed that.
