			Whether there is a connection between similar grip styles of different ethnic groups in Southeast Asia is another question.We'd have to look at the meanings of the handles, honestly, I don't really know.
 Here is another example of the shape that you call the "Y" shape, a Sumara from Sulawesi compared to Sikin Panjang handles and Pakayun handles.
