As far as I know Russian leather, topped with strong smelling birch oil, was a major export good from Russia in the 17th and 18th centuries because of its unmatched quality....

I believe this Caucasian kindjal is of Circassian origin but I would be grateful for more information on this piece and its maker mark.

I wonder how recent is this presentation Java keris?
Is it any good or just a tourist grade?

It is in pretty good condition with some patina to the silver rear side of pendok.

Thanks for your opinion. You may well be right and crossguard is some sort of horn. I doubt this is rhino horn, though, as it would be too good.

This blade has not been recovered from an yatagan bladed bayonet. All military issued yatagan bayonets have fullered blades.
