Borneo Kota Belud golok or parang?

Just aquired this one, marked Kota Belud on the blade, Northern tip of Borneo. 12.5 in. sharp blade
Has a kind of Phillipeno look to it. I gusess it's mid 20th C.

Comments welcome.

Just aquired this much larger straight Swede, 5.5 in. + blade.
No number near the ring, but it has eskiltuna in a scroll just below the rin.

I have a similar one that was just marked "Spilati", on a white sticker'.
Might be African, or Australian. they're both a rather generic shape.

Afghan Tabarzin

I've seen a number of these Afghanistan 'bring-back' axes. Most with some perforations and some brass or copper bands. Almost all had a sting in the tail, a stiletto spike screwed into the butt.

Thanks. I suspect it is indeed a repurposed French bayonet blade. I happen to have been sent one by a friend a while back, sans scabbard. He had no use for it, & I'll eventually 'convert' it myself....

I'm sure there will be videos of the similar japanese Qama sickles on the 'tube. These all are rather smaller & more nimble than swords, with different balance. More axe like.

It appears that Stephen Truelove made knives in Sheffield, UK in the late 19c'early 20th centuries. I have found not very much else about Truelove knives. I gather that they are rather rare.
