Here in the Netherlands we have a long tradition of speculaas. Traditionally the image was carved in wood. I've never seen them in stone.

It looks like some kind of Indo persian Kulah khud type helmet. The fact that all the rings are riveted makes it clear that it is an old one.

Welcome to this forum Bob! The helmet seems quite new to me. I don't see any patina, the edges are all sharp, there even seem to be some burrs on the air holes. The armor mark also looks very fresh....

I have had several of this type (parang nabur). Perhaps a decorated or undecorated scabbard has more to do with the price a buyer was willing to pay for it.
