Lathe
Hi Aleks,
the spikes of the El Cid mace seem to be made on a lathe. Therefore i guess it is not old. May be for decorating about 1950 th.
But as i post i m not familiar with ww 1 maces.

the decoration is slightly engraved in gold.
The inscription is much deeper, what makes me wonder, maybe this is later ?
