Thank you for clarifying Ian. Two people I trust very much when it comes to blades from mainland Sout-East-Asia told me that all three are from the 19th century, i.e. that they are antique. ;)

Raymundo told me via facebook that he thinks that the knife is coming from Ilocos or Pangasinan and he is pretty sure that it's from the First Republic area. :cool:

Oh, I am pretty sure that all three knives are from the 19th century, I know how they looked when I or in one case Robert received them, all three knives received restoration and blade polishing....

Hello Tim,

I am not sure about an African origin, the scabbard has a very African appearance to my eyes. ;) And mainland sword scabbards are very seldom made from leather.

Here a dated (1944) one I sold not long ago.
