I don't think it is a stone head. Looks like iron or steel. I think I see grinder marks on the V-shaped cut outs. Could be wrong though. :shrug:

I know little of Nihonto, but I know blades. Looks like the blade was polished on a buffer, and the "hamon" looks sand blasted, or etched. Hope I'm wrong.

A forum member had this and I couldn't pass it up. 14 3/4" (375mm) overall length. Laminated blade and lovely wood. Nice fittings with a silver wash or overlay, I think. Thanks Rick!
