Hello Ian. This was sent to Jolo for restoration. According to them, a combination of plastic and carabao horn was used for replacing the missing inlays.

Old gunong hilt restoration

My 2nd antique gunong acquisition. It is a shame that there are some missing inlays on the hilt. This gunong will be sent to Jolo for the restoration of the missing parts.

yes David. I polished the fittings on the sheath as well. Here are the photos. The stand of the gunong is recycled from a modern punyal and fortunately it fits perfectly.
