Nice find, Tim.

By looking at the head on the handle, I would say Bamileke, Cameroon.

In 'Afrikanische Waffen' by Fisher & Zirngibl (1978), I found a knife which could be from the same origin....

Red face a mistake

Sorry, Tim. Apparently, I was wrong in attributing this knife to the Luba.

In 'Rare African Short Weapons' by Manfred A. Zirngibl (1983) I found a picture of a sword almost identical to yours....

Nice display, Tim.

I like the sword/knife blade with the many curves. Where did you find this one ?

In my opinion, it's a Luba blade.

And...prices in Belgium for these kinds of knives are rather hight, too. You have to be lucky to find a cheap one (when the seller doesn't know what he's selling :D )

Danny, I just saw a picture in www.Mambele.be of a Budu sickle knife, which resembles mine. The handle on this one is also more of the Mangbetu-type.

Red face Last one. A little help needed

This is the axe from the junkshop. I don't think it's very old, but at 6 Euro....who cares :p

It measures about 52,5 cm. The wooden handle has some burnt-in designs.

When I found it, the axe...

Talking Of this one, I'm sure !

This is definitively Mangbetu. The blade is nicely forged and a bit 'out of centre'. The handle is old ivory. Total length : 27 cm.

Got this one at a reasonable price, too. Last week, a similar...

Question Not sure about this one, too.

The second one, I identified as possibly 'Azande' or 'Zande'.

It's about 42 cm long. The blade is sharp, beginning from the little 'bulge' all the way to the point at the back.
It has a wooden...

First of all, I know nothing about this axe (only that it comes from Africa). Could this be Songye or Nsapo-Nsapo ?
It's a big piece, weighing approx. 1 kg. The handle measures 40,5 cm. The iron...
