Here is a group of swords from the National Museum of Yemen that have been discussed on this site previously. Evidently the display was stolen last December in an inside theft over the Eid holiday....

I have always attributed the sword in this image...

I have always attributed the sword in this image as the earlier type. I believe the hilt has some silver cladding that softens the silouet but the quillions are definitely there.

You may know them as Omani Saifs but they will always be Kattara to me

I recently got this Omani Saif with the saber blade. It looks very handsome next to it's cousin, an Omani straight blade with the same beautiful silver wire grip which I have had for a while.
