Your sword looks like a semarang from Halmahera, compare it with my semarangs. It has some unusual features, the blade decoration as well the guard. It could be that it is a pure dance...

At the hole of the back handle scale I see something like porousness as well at the side view so I guess that it is some sort of bone but like always I could be wrong.
