Not easy, it seems to have some age, the materials is strong/ solid, not from bone, does not seem from ivory (black spots), so my best guess is deer antler.

I am not sure about the hilt materials either from the pics but it is not whale bone, nor buffalo bone (which would be pitted inside), so I tend to believe that it is either marine ivory or tanduk...
