Very nice, Luc. Perhaps this piece was 'altered' due to some kind of damage to one side of the blade.
Here's another 'interpretation'

What's this ???
I bought this piece yesterday. I really have no idea what I found. It looked genuine, it's heavy and quite sharp. Some kind of sickle (weapon), I guess.
Total length is 64 cm, with a wooden handle...

Congo rifle
I know this forum deals mainly with bladed weapons, but I thought this gun would fit in quite nicely.
This morning I found this (very old) gun in an antique shop in my town. The seller could not...

Katana, Justin,
I think that it's far easier using steel from files than actually making your own steel.
As to the shape of these knives, yes they are all quite similar. I see that on Katana's...

Bou-saâdi knife
I recently found this knife on ebay. From time to time, similar knives are offered, mostly of a poor quality. But when I received this particular piece, I noticed it was really well made.
It is a...

sword/stick for sale
Before going on ebay, I'm offering this item to the members of this forum. Perhaps not very 'etnographical', but it's a very nice swordstick. Unfortunately, there's no sheath.
This piece measures...

A housewife's weapon
Tim, here are two others.
I bought them as clubs...at first I really thought they were clubs. A friend from Amsterdam who visited Ethiopia recently 'enlightened' me. These two pieces are ustensils...

I like them !
It's not quite etnographic, but I also like small (pen)knives.
Here are the two smallest pieces of my penknife collection.
The 'card'knife measures 3 x 2,7 cm, with two blades of about 2,5 cm...

I'm also a 'stick man'. Perhaps you should have a look at some former threads about African sticks. They are always interesting.
I especially like the one...

A Luba knife
Last week, I was able to buy an entire collection of African weapons. Among these pieces was this dagger.
In my (humble) opinion, it is from the Luba-tribe. I found a dagger with a similar blade...

Welcome to the forum, Paolo
You have a very nice little knife. It's definitively African (and without any doubt from Congo), but I'm not sure of its exact origin (tribe).
The iron binding on...
