I wonder if there is a missing shoe part to this spear? It is not made to throw like a dart or a javelin type spear and most have some kind of shoe like a spike, knob or rectangular shoe.

Better and more likely the "elephant" motif is probably an Aralez. What seem like elephant ears are wings and the animal is depicted in the act of licking so to heal wounds.
