Agreed with David. I think it's a case of a cigar just being a cigar. Rembrandt was an enthnographic arms collector and included various ethnographic arms in his paintings.

Although these pieces did go for ridiculously higher than they should have been, I must say that Matulis is absolutely wonderful! The recurve on the blade is semi-reminiscent of a yataghan blade....

depending on how far the hardened edge goes back from the edge to the back of the blade, you may be able to reprofile it into a more sirupati-like blade.
