I missed your response. That kind of pipe is often used as buried septic pipe; you would probably have to find some at a plumbing supply wholesaler or possibly a contractor's supply...

I doubt it's a married piece.

Looks like black coral (akar bahar) from what I can see.
It also looks like it may have been crudely carved.
When polished the black material almost seems like it absorbs light.
