Thank you, very helpful. Noted on terminology. I think the spine pattern may indicate this was made from a rather large file. Any suggestions on how to go about repairing the torn scabbard toe?

Ah, got it on the notches. These come to mind from my collection first two are from dua lalan handles. Accepting the four lobes are backed by a diamond and have a central circle, I find similarity....

I would lean towards Sumba though most of the kabealas I've seen have been monosteel. What makes you think Sulawesi? The scabbard doesn't look like any Toraja examples I've seen.
