A crude but solid bolo Curious mix of utilitarian bolo, with a carved monster head hilt. The 7/32" thick, rough blade is 17", and the knife is 22.5" overall. The guard is thin sheet metal, pinned to the butt with a pin that is just bent over, not peened. Crude, but effective, whether for agriculture or as a weapon. Nice bolo Steve. Too bad there is no scabbard. Lew |

Hi Steve, yes nice piece! I have noticed that some of your pieces have a reddish color of the handle - rattan bindings. It's just a case or do you use a wax of that colour? Thank you :) |

I see what you mean. It's probably an improper setting in my camera, or possibly something I'm doing in the editing. I'll have to work on that. Steve |

Ah Ok, Steve!! Thank you :) ;) |

Another possibility - many of these pieces may be made of narra wood - the middle of the narra tree is reddish like it's cousin padouk (in Africa) and the outer part of the tree is brown like walnut. Interesting tree. |
