Hi Detlef. Your Cambodian knives are very similar to Thai knives.

Yes, that's true! ;) But the ferrule construction with brass and iron is the give away IMVHO.

Not sure how tightly that relationship holds with post WWII examples.

Oh, I am pretty sure that all three knives are from the 19th century, I know how they looked when I or in one case Robert received them, all three knives received restoration and blade polishing. Look for example the one in down, the blade was heavily corroded.

Detlef, I was not suggesting that your knives were from WWII period or later. Rather that brass was used more extensively post WWII, making the distinction that you described more difficult to apply to items post-WWII.

Thank you for clarifying Ian. Two people I trust very much when it comes to blades from mainland Sout-East-Asia told me that all three are from the 19th century, i.e. that they are antique. ;)
